This Privacy Policy explains how Hype Overlay ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use our software application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access the Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register for the Service, express an interest in obtaining information about us, or otherwise contact us.
- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a secure password.
- Payment Information: If you upgrade to a premium subscription, your payment instrument (e.g., credit card number) is collected directly by our third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not store, process, or view your full financial information on our servers.
- Application Preferences: We store your dashboard configurations, such as custom pricing thresholds and selected card sets, to ensure your settings persist across sessions.
2. Our Policy on Webcam & Video Data
Hype Overlay is a computer vision application that requires access to your webcam. We deeply value your bodily privacy and the security of your home or studio.
- No Recording or Storage: We do not record, transmit, upload, or store your live video feed on our servers.
- Local Processing: All image processing and card identification occurs either locally on your machine or transiently in memory, and image frames are instantly discarded after a price match is attempted.
- No Spying: We have zero access to view your camera feed remotely.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information collected via our Service for a variety of business purposes described below:
- To facilitate account creation and the login process.
- To send administrative information to you, such as updates to our terms, conditions, and policies.
- To fulfill and manage orders, payments, subscriptions, and refunds.
- To respond to user inquiries and offer customer support.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We may share your data with third-party vendors, service providers, or contractors who perform services for us or on our behalf. These include:
- Supabase: Used for secure user authentication, login management, and database hosting.
- Stripe: Used for secure processing of all subscription payments.
- PriceCharting (or similar APIs): When your camera scans a card, standard text queries (e.g., "Charizard Base Set") are sent to third-party pricing services to retrieve the current market value. No personal identifiers or images are sent with these search queries.
5. Security of Your Information
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. Your account passwords are cryptographically hashed, and all browser communications use encrypted HTTPS connections. However, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.
6. Data Deletion and Your Rights
You have the full right to review, update, restrict, or delete the personal information we hold about you. We provide automated, immediate mechanisms for you to exert these rights:
- Self-Service Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account, saved dashboard preferences, and all associated personal data at any time by clicking the "Delete Account" button located within your User Dashboard settings page. This action is instantaneous, automated, and irreversible.
- Manual Requests: If you are unable to access your dashboard or wish to submit a manual deletion request, you can email our support team. Upon verifying your identity, we will permanently remove your account and email data from all active databases and third-party authentication services (Supabase) within thirty (30) days.
7. Policy For Children
We do not knowingly solicit information from, market to, or collect data from children under the age of 13. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and users under 13 are strictly prohibited from creating accounts. If we learn that personal information from a user less than 13 years of age has been collected, we will instantly deactivate the account and take all reasonable measures to promptly delete such data permanently from our records.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Last Updated" date and the updated version will be effective as soon as it is accessible. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy frequently to be informed of how we are protecting your information.
9. Contact Us
